-If you’re going to tackle a Jimmy Barnes tune then you had better be bloody good, and if you’re going to tackle it first up, you’re either confident or insane. Here’s a rarity for me - a New Zealand rock band from the wonderfully named town of Hamilton. Even better, they’re a proper, classic rock band with none of that modern angsty emo, post grunge pap that permeates music today. Nope, this is a band that deals in catchy melodies, memorable tunes and powerful performances. Proper music. (more…)

The Altitude has played host to many exciting acts in the past and Shayne Malone’s gig on Thursday night can be added to the ever growing list – because they’re worth it! The first time I saw these guys play was on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Shake the Lake in Hamilton.
